In Loving Memory of Andy Fraser July 3, 1952 - March 16, 2015 Andy is survived by his daughters Hannah and Jasmine Fraser, and their mother Ri, his sister Gail and Anne, brothers Gavin and Alex, and many friends and associates in the music industry. A personal note from a friend: March 16, 2015 I got the news tonight that I lost a good friend, Andy Fraser. For many, he was the guy who penned one of the most recognizable rock songs of all time, All Right Now. But for me, he was much more. He was an inspiring teacher, a consummate defender of the underdog, a poet and a friend. For many years, I was privileged to create the visuals for his music. It was a creative collaboration that was open and free. When we weren’t creating, we spoke at great lengths about politics, human rights and the environment. We agreed on a lot and found humor in the hypocrisy of it all. We spoke about the changes each of us could make, big or small, and how to inspire others to do what they do best. To make a difference. When he was excited about a new song, he’d make me sit in his car to listen to it because that’s where he felt it sounded the best. I’m pretty sure he was right. And after all, you might as well be in the place where people are most likely gonna’ tap their foot or shake their fist when they hear that tune the first time. Or many years later, shed a tear for the memories it evokes. That’s human nature and he understood it. What I didn’t understand until now, is what he really meant when he would tell me, “I gotta’ get to work, bye now.” I can still hear his voice. He knew that each day was valuable, there was a lot he still needed to get done and that time was short. He wasn’t trying to create a legacy, as he wasn’t the sentimental type. He just loved the art of creating music, sticking up for what was right and inspiring others to do the same.
